Well, la ti dah

Like anybody took the US government seriously anyway, they have now taken southern Baja off the "do not go" list. The State Department warned citizens away and had even forbidden their employees to come here, due to gang activity. But now some bureaucrat in Washington DC, where these warnings are generated, has decided we're a safe destination. Well, pretty safe. They have downgraded our status to "my god, don't even think about going there, why would you?" to "proceed with caution".

The State Department warnings didn't seem to hurt us, because tourism has increased this year, some say by as much as 7%.
