Welcome to Brent Gardens.
Please take some time to learn about our great location and history.

Location

Brent Gardens is located at 4353, 4363, and 4373 Halifax Street in North Burnaby, British Columbia. We are one block west of Willingdon Avenue, and one block north of Lougheed Highway. We are a short walk from Brentwood Skytrain station, a busy bus loop and Brentwood Mall.

Brent Gardens is also walking distance to many of everyone’s frequently visited stores and services, including Save-On Foods, a medical clinic, London Drugs, many of the major banks, dentists, an eye doctor, coffee shops, restaurants and department stores. We are close to BCIT, gyms and Willingdon community centre. Brent Gardens is only a 7 minute drive to Burnaby Hospital. Our proximity to Hwy 1 also makes it easy to access neighbouring cities.

Brent Gardens is included in one of the city’s four town centres as identified by the City of Burnaby.

“The town centres help to provide complete communities within each quadrant, providing residents with an option to walk, bike, take transit or drive to a local destination where they can access the mix of goods and services to meet their daily needs”. (City of Burnaby, Town Centres, 2003-2012, <http://www.burnaby.ca/doing-business/places-to-do-business/town-centres.html>)

History

One of the first high rises in the Brentwood area, Brent Gardens was built in the early 1980s. Brent Gardens began its life as a rental complex and today is occupied by both owners and renters.

Over the years, Brent Gardens has seen the introduction of the Skytrain to our neighbourhood, many industrial buildings to our south be replaced by condos, and the evolution of Brentwood Mall. The face of Brent Gardens has changed over this time similarly to the community around us. There have been many updates to our three buildings since their construction, including new building envelopes in 4363 and 4373, recent new roofs in all three buildings, updated elevators in 4353, and new windows and sliding doors in 4363 and 4373. The clock tower in the middle of our courtyard is no more, and the flag that once flew at Brent Gardens has been removed. Despite our changing appearance, Brent Gardens remains our home and residents still aim to create a sense of community both within Brent Gardens and our neighbourhood.
